Center Managers: NEKCA’s Head Start Program is looking to fill three (3) Center Manager positions; St. Johnsbury (40 hrs. wk/49 wks. yr), Lyndonville (40 hrs. wk/40 wks. yr), and Hardwick (40 hrs. wk/39 wks. yr). The Head Start/ Early Head Start program is seeking leaders who will provide support and supervision to staff as well as leading a team effort to provide quality early childhood and family-centered services. Exciting, full-time opportunity available for unique individuals who enjoy a work environment that is challenging and rewarding. The ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills; the ability to meet program timelines and implement federal and state licensing requirements. Minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and two years of experience; Bachelors Degree preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.

Education Manager: Rutland County Head Start The position oversees Education (school-readiness) programming for Rutland Community Programs (RCP) Early Care and Education Programs, such as Rutland County Head Start (RCHS), Public PreK (Act 166), PreK Development Expansion, and Childcare, and directly supervises teaching staff. The Education Manager is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of curriculum, child outcomes assessment systems, training and professional development initiatives and classroom operation, incorporating best practices and promoting ongoing quality improvement in the delivery of services. Family Support Specialist: Rutland Community Programs’ Early Care and Education seeks a self-motivated, organized and team-oriented individual for a Family Support Specialist (FSS) position. The FSS develops and sustains collaborative relationships with an assigned caseload of families, and serves as the primary point of contact. The Family Support Specialist will deliver comprehensive services, including in a home setting, which includes the development of family and child goals, case management services, referrals, and parent engagement activities. Potential candidates must possess strong personal skills, strong written and verbal skills, and proficiency with data entry. Minimum of eighteen (18) months of experience working with families in a community-based early education or other family support/family-centered program. Local travel is a must for this position; must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. CDA credential, or equivalent, as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Position is for 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Substitute Teacher, Part-time: Rutland County Head Start is actively recruiting for the position of a Substitute Teacher. This is flexible position to support our year-round preschool and child care program in Rutland City. Substitutes work at program sites on an as needed basis. The candidate will provide a safe, nurturing environment for children 3-5 years old in a classroom setting, implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities in conjunction with other professional staff. The candidate should have previous experience working with young children and their families, and promote family interaction and communication. Practical qualifications include: At least eighteen (18) years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED; Enrolled in, or completed coursework in Early Childhood is preferred, or a professional development plan to achieve the same.
