Vermont Head Start Association learning programsYoung Children and Their Families Benefit from Our Partnerships

The Vermont Head Start Association creates meaningful collaborations and relationships with agencies that share our vision and goals.  Our partners help us coordinate comprehensive services, to support the whole child and the family.  Our partners at the local and state level also recognize Head Start as a leader in the early childhood development and education field.

Together we provide high quality services to Head Start families and their children.

Public School and Head Start Partnerships

The Agencies of Education and Human Services issued a joint memo in August 2016, Public School and Head Start and Act 166: Preferred Practice Statement. The preferred practice statement highlights the benefit to children and families when Head Start and public schools partner to leverage federal, state and local resources. Vermont’s Act 166 provides universal access to publicly funded prekindergarten.
