Resources for Training and Technical Assistance
The VHSA helps to plan regional and national training events for its members, their staff, and parents. The Office of Head Start, Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) system further supports Head Start staff to deliver high-quality services to children and families through professional development supports. The T/TA system uses evidence-based resources to support Head Start staff as leaders in the early care and education field.
VHSA members and their staff access T/TA resources through the national centers on:
- Early Head Start
- Early Head Start Child Care Partnership
- Quality Teaching and Learning
- Parent, Family and Community Engagement
- Program Management and Finance Operations and
- Health.
Regional T/TA is provided by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute. This T/TA agency offers on-site and regional training and technical assistance in New England. An Early Childhood Specialist from the Donahue Institute attends VHSA meetings to provide updates on training opportunities. The Donahue Institute also works closely with Vermont Head Start and Early Head Start programs, to provide technical assistance upon request.
