Family members of a child enrolled in a Head Start program will find updates about COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) on your local program’s website or social media. Updates may include precautions your program recommends, information about how your program protects your child, what you can do at home to support your child’s learning, changes in your program’s procedures as well as changes in the schedule or closure.

Head Start children have life-long benefits

Research shows that children who receive high quality early childhood education such as Head Start have much better education, employment, social, and health outcomes as adults than their non-Head Start counterparts. Head Start programs offer learning environments designed to support children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development.
