The Vermont Head Start Association creates meaningful collaborations and relationships with agencies that share our vision and goals. Our local and state partners help us coordinate comprehensive services, to support the whole child and the family. Together we provide high quality services to Head Start families and their children.
Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC)
This partnership demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development. We work together to plan and host an annual conference where early childhood professionals attend. They network, learn from national speakers and experts in the field of child care and working with families to prepare young children for school and success.
Agencies of Education and Human Services Pre-kindergarten
The Agencies of Education and Human Services issued a joint memo in August 2016, Public School and Head Start and Act 166: Preferred Practice Statement. The preferred practice statement highlights the benefit to children and families when Head Start and public schools partner to leverage federal, state and local resources. Vermont’s Act 166 provides universal access to publicly funded prekindergarten.
